Nintendo Restricts 18+ Wii U eShop Content in Europe
Nintendo has restricted access to 18+ games and content on the Wii U eShop to a very short time window of 11pm till 3am.
ZombiU!
We got our Wii U last week, but what I really wanted.. actually, what I’d wanted since I first heard of it.. was ZombiU, Ubisoft’s survival horror set in the middle of London!
Rather than jump in at the deep end with the hardcore Survival mode, I decided to try the normal game mode first, where the game provides you with a new survivor if you die. Just as well, because my first survivor died almost immediately, dragged off that first ladder by the ravenous horde! The poor guy didn’t stand a chance! (more…)
Preparing to Review: Hairy Tales
I was recently given a PC copy of Arges Systems’ Hairy Tales to review. The game is out for PC, but also for iPhone, iPad and the Mac. It’s also cheap.. only £2.99 on Desura, so go and get it 😉
Hairy Tales is a rather creative puzzle game featuring Lemming-like Hairys who need to be guided safely to the exit of each level.. dragging and turning tiles to allow them to collect mushrooms and avoid enemies. The graphics and animations are rather fun too, especially the little Hairy.
Procrastination..
Procrastination, you are no friend of mine.. I’ve been putting off a few posts due to holiday, illness, etc.. and the longer I put a post off, the less I feel like doing it!
I’ve actually completed a few console games.. RAGE, which has been lurking at 90% complete for a while, and then Enslaved.. which I finished rather quickly.. I adored this game and its DLC: Pigsy’s Perfect 10, and for the first time actually wished there was more DLC 😮
Our Wii U and Nintendo Land
Tim brought home our Wii U last night, and as he’d done the tedious hour-long update at work, it was just a matter of setting up our user accounts.. individual accounts linked to the new Nintendo Network this time.
I decided not to bother importing my old Mii yet.. the transfer from the Wii is easy enough but both consoles have to be connected to the internet to do it.. and besides, there was a new Mii Maker to play with!
LEGO The Lord of The Rings Demo
LEGO The Lord of the Rings is an action-adventure under development by Traveler’s Tales, under license from Warner and LEGO. The game is out on the Nintendo DS, 3DS and the PlayStation Vita, but the PC, Wii, PS3 and Xbox 360 versions are due out on the 23rd November in the UK. The PC demo is available to download now!
Incredipede
I spotted Incredipede last night on RPS: an indie puzzle by Colin Northway featuring Quozzle, an incredipede on a journey to rescue her sisters. Quozzle can grow new arms and legs as she goes, with muscle and leg positions determined at the start of the level.
Many More Orcs Must Die!
I loved Orcs Must Die! I spent many hours gleefully squishing, stabbing, and burning orcs.. and trying to beat friends on the scoreboard, of course! Good times, good times.. 😉
Orcs Must Die! 2 carries on where the first game left off.. though with a bunch of new traps and weapons, and a second playable character, the Sorceress. And it’s still got that lovely art style..

Pet Battling
I had assumed that Pet Battles would be locked, since I’ve still not picked up Mists. I wasn’t going to pay Blizzard’s digital version, figuring I would find it a lot cheaper at the shops.. and then I forgot to pick it up when we were actually there. I’ll get it soon enough, though, and in the meantime I’ll make a bit more progress with other games, like Dragon Age!
With my Mechanical Chicken by my side, I went out to attack.. a Dung Beetle. Gotta start somewhere 😉
