Many More Orcs Must Die!

I loved Orcs Must Die!  I spent many hours gleefully squishing, stabbing, and burning orcs.. and trying to beat friends on the scoreboard, of course!  Good times, good times.. 😉

Orcs Must Die! 2 carries on where the first game left off.. though with a bunch of new traps and weapons, and a second playable character, the Sorceress.  And it’s still got that lovely art style..

Borderlands 2: Mechromancer Out Early!

Borderlands 2’s first DLC, the Mechromancer, has been released early and is available today!

Gaige, the Mechromancer, is a new playable character with her own skill tree and abilities as well as a summonable pet robot, Deathtrap.  Those who preordered Borderlands 2 will get this DLC for free; otherwise it costs £8 on PC, or 800 MSP on the Xbox.

Sea Pony!

I was fishing the wreckage pools off the coast of Darkmoon Island, when this dropped..

I swear I wasn’t even trying! 😀

Pet Battling

I had assumed that Pet Battles would be locked, since I’ve still not picked up Mists.  I wasn’t going to pay Blizzard’s digital version, figuring I would find it a lot cheaper at the shops.. and then I forgot to pick it up when we were actually there.  I’ll get it soon enough, though, and in the meantime I’ll make a bit more progress with other games, like Dragon Age!

With my Mechanical Chicken by my side, I went out to attack.. a Dung Beetle.  Gotta start somewhere 😉

Borderlands 2 – Bring Friends? Ok Then!

I really enjoyed Borderlands.. ignoring my initial confusion over weapons, at least.  Once we’d sorted out the questing.. I don’t tend to like running back and forth between points without knowing what’s going on.. it was good fun with friends too.

So for Borderlands 2, I’m playing with friends again, though it does mean slow progress as we have to all be available at the same time.  This should give me a chance to check the story out properly, and explore a bit.. but I’m playing through Dragon Age: Origins still.  Can’t have everything, tho 😉

As one friend nabbed Zer0, I chose Maya, the Siren.  I wasn’t sure about her special ability at first.. I liked and wanted the Phasewalking ability still.. but Phaselock has turned out to be more useful to the group and a little bit more fun as I can trap huge enemies in the air!  The Mechromancer will be available in another two weeks, and as we all pre-ordered, we’ll be able to try her out, or fight over her, fairly soon 🙂

Trying to Complete Games..

It’s a rather uphill struggle, if I’m honest.. even if we ignore the games that have no end, such as WoW, I seem to be acquiring games faster than I can finish them!  We picked up Borderlands 2 on pre-order, Tim bought us copies of Torchlight II, and Jay’s bought me Orcs Must Die! 2, along with add-ons Fire and Water and Family Ties! 😀

The confirmation of Dragon Age III: Inquisition reminded me that I haven’t finished either of the previous two in the series; I lost my save in DA:O thanks to a reformat a long while back, and because I hadn’t finished that, I didn’t start on Dragon Age II.

So, I’ve now restarted Dragon Age: Origins.. I’m on the Ultimate Edition this time round, too, as Tim picked that up for me last year!  I went with the Human Noble Rogue again, mainly because I wanted to start in the Castle.  I’d have gone with a Mage but they all start off in the Circle.. second playthrough ahoy!
