We checked out the games in the Cerebral Bundle, the fourth bundle from Bundle in a Box.. here are our impressions!
First up: Dédale De Luxe, a tile-based maze puzzle game by Sergey Mohov, and one of the two bundle exclusives.
Checking Out CorsixTH
I recently dug out our copy of Theme Hospital, but after a certain point the game just kept crashing.. so I went over to the still-in-development open source reimplementation of Theme Hospital, CorsixTH!
Old Games: Theme Hospital
I’ve had enough of the current crop of pre-order and retailer-exclusive-ridden, DLC and microtransaction-infested games.. and I’ve gone back to a slightly older game: Bullfrog’s Theme Hospital, from 1997!
A Terrible Theme Park
When it comes to theme park games, I think of the awesome RollerCoaster Tycoon series (mainly #2), and to a lesser extent, Bullfrog’s Theme Park, though I didn’t get around to trying that one. While poking around on the iPad, I noticed that there was another Theme Park game.. EA’s Theme Park for iPad and iPhone. I think Tim warned me it wouldn’t end well..
The Sims FreePlay: Play-Free
Going back a few months, Tim brought home an iPad, and showed me The Sims FreePlay. After previous experiences with “social” games, I wasn’t expecting all that much.. even so, I was disappointed.
SimCity Launches.. And There Are Queues.
SimCity has launched in the US, and there are 30 minute queues to get in and play. The game doesn’t even unlock in Europe for another three days, so unless EA hurry up and add more servers, this is only going to get worse.
I Punched Diablo!
I’ve just completed my Nightmare run of Diablo III with my Barbarian, and realised there was one particular achievement which I could go back and get very easily.. Punch Diablo!
Path of Exile – First Look
While looking at some Diablo III postings, I saw rather a lot of spam comments trying to redirect fans over to Path of Exile. Normally, I ignore spam and condemn the author, but there were a lot of comments, and I was curious. A quick look around turned up a game that’s still in beta, but already has a bit of a following..
The Plan
The Plan is a little experiment from Krillbite Studio, devs of survival horror Among the Sleep which is due out later this year. In The Plan, you play as a fly.. an insect better known for a close association with rubbish bins and dog mess than gaming..
Alas, Poor Ragiest..
My first foray into Diablo III’s Hardcore mode, with Ragiest the Barbarian, ended in tragedy thanks to a pack of Demented Fallen. Tragedy, because if you’re going to die, at least let it be to a boss, right? 😉
