teamPixel and Indiegogo to Save Homeworld?

During the news about THQ’s assets having been sold at auction yesterday, there was no word of the Homeworld franchise.

Rob Santos, lead developer at teamPixel, enquired about the series and whether it would appear at auction, but was told that Homeworld is part of a “legacy assets bucket” and not yet up for sale.  So for now, teamPixel are holding an Indiegogo campaign called Save Homeworld!


THQ Files for Bankruptcy

As reported by, THQ has now filed for bankruptcy under Chapter 11.

All studios remain open, with projects still in development at this time to continue as planned.

Chapter 11 is a chapter of the United States’ Bankruptcy Code, and is used to permit reorganisation, rather than liquidation which is normally governed by Chapter 7.

The Humble THQ Bundle

THQ have teamed up with The Humble Bundle to create The Humble THQ Bundle, containing seven games starting at a price of just $1!

THQ Face Bankruptcy Threat

THQ appear under threat of bankruptcy again, following second quarter losses of $21 million yesterday, and a fall in share price of nearly 50% today.

Development is ongoing for South Park: The Stick of Truth, Company of Heroes 2 and Metro: Last Light, with release dates having been pushed back to avoid low quality releases which would further harm THQ’s reputation.

Halo 4 and Other Things

Halo 4 was released this morning, exclusively for the Xbox 360.  The story picks up four years following the events of Halo 3, with Master Chief now shipwrecked and facing new enemies..
