Steam Greenlight – Live Now
Steam Greenlight has now gone live, allowing the community to vote for indie games they’d like to see available on Steam.
Users can browse the games entered into the system, vote for or against an entry, ask questions or leave feedback. To get a game on the system, the developer needs to submit the game information, screenshots and videos; the only requirements at this point are that the game runs on the PC, and does not contain offensive material or violate copyright or intellectual property rights.
Borderlands 2 DLC and Season Pass
Gearbox have announced that Borderlands 2 is to receive four add-on campaigns after the launch of the game on September 21st, priced at 800MSP or $9.99 each, or available all together in the Season Pass bundle for 2400 MSP / $29.99.
The four add-on packs are scheduled to arrive by June 2013; more details to follow.
World of Warcraft – Patch 5.0.4 Out!
The pre-Mists patch for World of Warcraft, patch 5.0.4, is now out!
This patch updates all classes with a new talent system, with new abilities and spells, and changes to glyphs, and amongst the other changes, adds account-wide achievements, mounts and pets, AOE looting and cross-realm zones.
There’s also the Attack on Theramore Island to look forward to; a world event which will become available in the weeks before the launch of Mists of Pandaria, due on the 25th September.
Hearthfire Announced
The second DLC for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim has been announced: Hearthfire.

Iron Brigade
We recently acquired Iron Brigade, a World War I style tower defense-shooter hybrid with mechs and turrets, and a television-based enemy called the Monovision. I spotted this game a long time back, when it was known as Trenched, because of the developer Double Fine who came up with this game as well as Costume Quest and Stacking during one fortnight of development. A trademark dispute in Europe resulted in a name change, and a delay to the release: December last year on the Xbox, but only this month for the PC.. and another rather quiet release too.
Plants vs. Zombies 2 Coming in 2013!
EA and PopCap Games have announced that Plants vs. Zombies 2 will be coming in Spring 2013!
Another Plants vs Zombies based creation, the Talking Zombatar is expected later this year. This app will allow you to dress up and train your own Zombie..

Talking Zombatar will be free in the App Store, for iPhone and iPad.
Gamescom 2012 Round-Up!
Gamescom 2012 started off with Sony’s press conference, with a selection of games for the PlayStation Vita.. Little Big Planet Vita, Killzone: Mercenary, and other games previously mentioned at E3: Call of Duty: Black Ops: Declassified; PlayStation All-Stars; Assassin’s Creed III Liberation, featuring a new female lead, Aveline; and Need for Speed Most Wanted, a Vita game with all the same features as the PS3 version, with a huge open world to explore.
Media Molecule’s new game Tearaway was demonstrated for the first time, with a lot of use being made of the Vita’s touch features.

OnLive Bought
OnLive have now confirmed that their assets have been bought out by a new company; the streaming service will continue to operate under new ownership, with “substantial funding”.
The new company has also confirmed that they do not expect there to be any interruption to any OnLive services.
OnLive Closing Down
After reports all evening that the OnLive streaming service was on the brink of closure, and a few public denials, it has now been reported that OnLive has filed for “a form of” bankruptcy, with a new company to be formed in its place. Meanwhile, other reports indicate that the company has been purchased by a third party.
For now, the website and service is still up and running, and there’s even a giveaway listed on Twitter (Space Pirates and Zombies and SpaceChem), so we’ll have to wait and see.
Ubisoft Launches Uplay PC
Ubisoft has now launched Uplay PC, their own digital distribution platform. Uplay PC will sell games and connect to the existing Uplay community, and the new Uplay PC app will act as a launcher for individual games as well as managing friends lists and chat.
To try and attract gamers to the service, Ubisoft are currently offering a number of PC games for £1, with daily deals continuing throughout Gamescom.
