Ubisoft Launches Uplay PC
Ubisoft has now launched Uplay PC, their own digital distribution platform. Uplay PC will sell games and connect to the existing Uplay community, and the new Uplay PC app will act as a launcher for individual games as well as managing friends lists and chat.
To try and attract gamers to the service, Ubisoft are currently offering a number of PC games for £1, with daily deals continuing throughout Gamescom.
E3 2012
It’s E3 time again.. the first day starting off with conferences from Microsoft and Sony. I’ve been waiting for more info on a few games, but E3 is usually good for info on new games too..
Microsoft showed footage from 360-exclusive Halo 4 and Call of Duty: Black Ops II, due for release in November, Resident Evil 6, due in October, and Tomb Raider, Spring 2013.

In the News – 2nd March
Assassin’s Creed 3 will be set in North America during the second half of the 18th Century and the events of the American Revolution. These details and others appeared in the latest issue of Game Informer magazine, and subsequently were posted to NeoGAF.

Assassin’s Creed 3 Due in October
Ubisoft has announced that Assassin’s Creed 3 will launch on the 30th October, 2012.
This game is the fifth in the Assassin’s Creed series, and is said to conclude the story of protagonist Desmond Miles. Assassin’s Creed 3 will be released on PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii U.

Rayman Origins announced for PC
Ubisoft has announced a release date of 30th March for the PC version of Rayman Origins, the platform game previously released in November for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii. Releases for the Nintendo 3DS and PlayStation Vita are yet to be announced.

The game can be pre-ordered now on the UbiShop, for £19.99.
Rayman Origins will have a one time activation for digital download versions, with no DRM for boxed copies (via RockPaperShotgun).
Castle Empire Online – Open Beta
Ubisoft and Blue Byte‘s browser-based strategy MMO Castle Empire Online (formerly known as The Settlers Online) is now in open beta in Europe, with registration available through either Facebook or Ubisoft’s UPlay system. The game has been available to players in the US, Germany, France and Russia for some time, but is now available in the UK.
In Castle Empire Online, players gather resources, build and expand their city and raise an army.. you can group up with allies and join guilds, and trade.. or simply conquer all who stand in your path!
