E3 2015 – Bethesda

Bethesda hosted its first E3 press conference in the early hours this morning, revealing Dishonored: Definitive Edition, Dishonored 2 and The Elder Scrolls: Legends, and showing more for Fallout 4, Doom 4 and BattleCry.

Two single-player demos for Doom were shown, featuring weapons, enemies and executions.  There was also a multiplayer trailer, with an arena and miniguns and other goodies.. and then there was the announcement of SnapMap, a custom games and map editor which promises to allow a huge amount of customisation for all players!

Doom is to be released in Spring 2016 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Some gameplay was shown for team-based shooter Battlecry, with newly revealed faction, the Han Republic and a refresher  for the five classes announced so far: the hammer-swinging Brawler, the far-reaching Enforcer, agile dual-wielding Infiltrator, the ranged skills of the Ranger, and the gun-toting Gadgeteer..

Global beta signups have now opened, and fans can sign up on the official site ahead of beta opening this Fall.

Bethesda also officially announced sequel Dishonored 2..

The game is set 15 years after the Lord Regent’s defeat, with a new, otherworldly usurper having taken the throne.  Dishonored 2 is being developed by Arkane Studios, the same team behind the original Dishonored.

The Dishonored: Definitive Edition was announced for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, due on the 25th August. This version of the game comes with the following DLC: The Dunwell City Trials, The Knife of Dunwall and The Brigmore Witches, as well as the Void Walker’s Arsenal expansion.

The Elder Scrolls: Legends was also announced: a free to play strategy card game for PC or iPad, due later this year.

Then there was Fallout 4.. the official trailer was released a week ago.

Fallout 4’s story is set in Boston and begins on the day the bombs dropped, with the player character taking shelter in Vault 111 with their family but then awakening 200 years later, as the only survivor.  Fallout 4 will be coming to PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on the 10th November 2015!

There’s a new, advanced character creation system in place, so players really can be whoever they want..

In-game there will be over 50 base weapons and over 700 mods.. and there’ll even be the ability to modify your own Power Armor, with a jetpack, amongst other things!  “Every item is a resource”.. hoarders beware and modders rejoice!

Bethesda are also releasing a Pip-Boy Edition of Fallout 4, which will include a wearable replica of the Pip-Boy!

Owners can fit their phone into the device to work as the screen.. there’s set to be a Pip-Boy companion app for Android and iOS which will allow players to manage their in-game inventory and more.

The Pip-Boy Edition will cost around £100.. it is already available to pre-order on Amazon.com for $119.99.

Bethesda have also created a mobile base-building game called Fallout Shelter.

The game is free to play, though with in-app purchases, and is available now on iTunes.  An Android version is also coming.

The next conferences at E3 2015 will be coming today (15th), from Microsoft, EA, Ubisoft and Sony, then tomorrow (16th) from Nintendo and Square Enix.
