Dead Space 3 is to include microtransactions during weapon crafting: Eurogamer discovered mention of downloadable content during a hands-on session with the game, when a player tries to craft a weapon they don’t have enough resources for.
Resources, i.e., scrap metal and other materials, can be gathered throughout the game or found by scavenger bots, but they will also be available from an in-game store. Several packages of in-game currency will be made available to purchase for real money, though pricing is as yet unknown.
