PvP Coming to Diablo III

Blizzard have announced that the latest update for Diablo III, Patch 1.0.7, will add PvP in the form of Duels!

Diablo III - Nek the Brawler

Players will be able to duel others via arrangement with Nek the Brawler, and fights will take place in a new zone designed specially for player combat: The Scorched Chapel.  Duels can be one on one, or up to four players in a free-for-all format.  The system is very minimal: the game doesn’t keep score, there are no listed objectives, and there are no penalties to dying, such as permanent death for Hardcore characters, or durability damage for anyone.

Patch 1.0.7 will also include a few improvements to the Wizard and Monk classes, and add some new rare crafting recipes and another tier of Gems.  Monster Power support will be made available for public games, and the experience reward for playing on Monster Power levels 1-10 will also be increased.

Two ‘Quality of Life’ changes will also be coming in: the incrementing resurrection timer will be removed for Softcore players, to be replaced with a flat 5 second timer; and the base pickup radius is to be increased slightly, to avoid the situation where players were unable to pick up gold while running past it.

The patch will be released to the PTR ‘soon’.
